Infosys Recruitment Process
The feedback that we have received from Infosys clearly says that our students need to improve their basic mathematics and logic skills. Out of almost 45 students who sat for the GD, only 17 were found good enough for the written test and out of these 17, only one-Neha Nema-cleared the written exam, which had many questions similar to our FOT but of a slightly higher difficulty level.
The encouraging thing is that 6 out of the 8 Infosys scholars cleared the written exam and appeared for the final interview. Aditi, Annapurna, Archana, Rati, Ruchi and Veena were the six scholars who cleared the exam. They deserve commendation for remaining consistent during their program.
Those who did well in the exam need to ensure that they further improve their maths basics and also the reading speed. The top score in the test was only 30/50 despite the fact that many of you had attempted all the questions. Only 7 of the 45 students who sat for the recruitment got more than 25, which was the cut-off score for interview selection. This shows that all of you have to increase your accuracy level. You should go through the test and choose the easy questions without getting stuck on the difficult ones.
What some students found very tough to solve were questions that described a situation and called for a multi-step logical analysis to arrive at the answer. Many of you could not understand these questions, leave alone solve them. Even the data interpretation and arithmetic questions were not understood easily.
Those who did not do well in the exam should not lose heart. They should see this as an opportunity to identify their weakness. They need to go through magazines like Competition Success Review that have questions on maths and logical reasoning. You will have to solve these questions on a daily basis for improving your quantitative aptitude and keeping your brain fit. Every entrance exam tests students on maths and logical ability and if you work hard on this, you will find it easy to clear any exam you take in the future.
We want every one of you to be successful in your chosen career. You have to realise that you cannot depend entirely on the inputs given in class. You will have to keep learning even after you complete your program. Many more companies will come to recruit and you will have more opportunities to showcase you talent. However, you cannot fulfil your dream if you are not regular in improving your aptitude and meeting the requirements of the top companies.
Those who cleared the written exam should share with others information about the test. Let them know the questions you got right and those you found tough to solve.
Let us have a discussion on the areas that require improvement and what can be done at DLC to achieve that.

Infosys is obviously seeing potential in many of our students and has selected 22 from CBIT 6, 7 and 8 for their scholarship program. The list of the scholars has been put up on the notice board.
The shortlisting should be seen as an opportunity to impress the company by your consistent performance. Those who are Infosys scholars are not required to appear for a GD at the completion of their 6 months program and are directly given the objective type aptitude test
